Fair Wear & Tear Policy
At M8T Services, we are committed to delivering high-quality vehicles to our customers, recognising that normal wear and tear is an inevitable aspect of vehicle use. This policy aims to clearly define the acceptable level of wear and tear that will not incur any financial penalty, ensuring both parties have a mutual understanding from the start.

Policy Application
This policy is applied during the vehicle check-in and check-out process, where M8T Services will inspect the vehicle for any new or pre-existing damage. It is crucial for our customers to conduct their own inspection and notify us of any discrepancies found that are not listed in the inspection report. This policy is guided by M8T Services’ discretion and is designed to cover a broad spectrum of vehicles and conditions without being exhaustive.
Paint & Body
Acceptable:
- Scratches under 25mm that do not penetrate the clear coat.
- Isolated dents smaller than 10mm without paint damage.
- Stone chips smaller than 2mm.
Unacceptable:
- Scratches that penetrate through the clear coat.
- Dents on critical areas like wheel arches, and door edges.
- Multiple dents or chips on a single panel.
Wheels & Tyres
Acceptable:
- Minor scuffs on wheels.
- Normal tyre tread wear.
Unacceptable:
- Damage to wheel rims or hubcaps.
- Tyre sidewall damage or punctures.
- Missing items like spare wheels or tools.
Windscreen & Glass
Acceptable:
- Single-chip under 5mm in diameter.
Unacceptable:
- Chips over 5mm, multiple chips, or any cracks.
Interior, Upholstery & Trim
Acceptable:
- Light marks or soilings removable by cleaning.
Unacceptable:
- Damage or stains from animals or banned activities.
- Offensive odours or damage from smoking.
- Unremovable marks or debris.
Accessories & Keys
Acceptable:
- All keys and accessories must return in working condition as initially provided.
Unacceptable:
- Lost or damaged keys and accessories.
- Items not returned directly to an M8T Services staff member.
- Damage from improperly fitted accessories.
Returning Your Vehicle
Returns must be conducted with an M8T Services team member present for the inspection. Ensure the vehicle is clean and has the same fuel level as at the start. Any personal items should be removed; M8T Services is not liable for items left in the vehicle. Damages outside the scope of fair wear and tear will be charged against your account or security deposit. Disputes over charges should be submitted in writing within seven days.
