Hello! We’re Guilherme Hartmann and Matheus Cruz, the co-founders of M8T Services Car Rental.
Our story began in 2018 when we had no plans to establish a car rental company. Back then, we were just two small business owners helping each other out: Guilherme was running his moving company, Gold Line Removals, and Matheus had his own car repair shop, Gas Mate Garage.
We weren’t trying to build something big. We were just doing what we’re good at, but it turns out it was leading us here all along. The working relationship soon became a real friendship. So, after so many chats and shared ideas, we saw an opportunity in the market, something that we both felt was worth exploring.
In September 2020, during the height of the pandemic, we decided to take a big step and bought our first car together.
That’s when we officially entered the competitive world of car rentals. At the time, more and more people were looking for vehicles to use for deliveries and transport work, especially with jobs being complex to come by.
Meanwhile, the cost of buying a car was shooting up, making it harder for everyday Aussies to afford one.
So, we launched our first rental option: Long-Term Car Rental in Sydney as an affordable and flexible way for people to get behind the wheel without the stress of ownership.
Starting a company wasn’t easy, but we knew that. Like most new businesses, we had our share of doubts and moments where we questioned if it would all work.
But we kept showing up. Kept doing right by our clients. Little by little, that built trust. And that trust helped us grow.
The company spent three years concentrating on long-term rentals before identifying another business opportunity. We entered the daily car rental market in Sydney, which allowed us to serve additional customers who required dependable short-term transportation.
